I became a statistic in 2023.
That’s when I was diagnosed with Triple Positive Breast Cancer.
But somewhere in between the fear and the paperwork, my true self emerged.
Cancer is funny like that.
It turns fear into purpose. Terror into determination.
Diagnosis into direction.
And patient into partner.

Research Advocacy

I participated in the I-SPY 2.2 Clinical Trial in the neo-adjuvant setting in 2023, and in 2024, I became a patient advocate.
With I-SPY, I serve in Working Groups with leading Medical Oncologists, Radiologists, and Researchers from across the country. Groups include: Agents, Safety, Access & Diversity, Patient Quality of Life/ePRO, Metastasis, Pre-I-SPY, Biomarkers, and IRB.
I am also co-leading our Plain Language Summary project and serve as a Peer Mentor to anyone considering the I-SPY trial. -
The National Breast Cancer Coalition is the leading grassroots policy and research organization in the country, spearheading critical vaccine studies and passing policies and legislations and bring the healthcare of people with breast cancer to the forefront.
I graduated from NBCC’s Project LEAD, Policy Institute, and am a regular attendee at their Leadership Summit. -
MRCT is a research and policy center that convenes their stakeholders to address critical issues in the design, implementation, activation, and oversight of clinical trials.
I am a member of MRCT’s Clinical Trial Glossary team, reviewing and revising clinical trial terms to be more patient friendly.

I serve as a merit reviewer on pragmatic studies and cancer research. -
The Department of Defence’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program provides funding breast cancer research.

The American Cancer Society offers a broad range of grants for cancer researchers.
I serve as a community reviewer on the early career panel.
